The Marina Restaurant proudly presents The Inaugural Marina Winemaker’s Dinner featuring award winning wines from 919 Wines by Eric Semmler – named Australian Winemaker of The Year 2013/2014 by Winestate Magazine in November 2013 in recognition of the consistently high ranking of his wines across the breadth of his portfolio over the entire year of judging.
Showcasing an eight course Degustation Menu by Chef Ian Pontin, matched with wines from Eric’s 919 Wines range the Marina Inaugural Winemaker’s Dinner promises to be a memorable occasion.

919 wines is a specialist producer of organically grown wines from Mediterranean varieties which suit the hot climate of the Riverland South Australia.
Winemaker Eric Semmler started off life in horticulture, but became increasingly interested in high quality wine, so went to university to study wine science. He worked in several wineries in north Eastern Victoria, including All Saints and Brown Brothers, before relocating to South Australia. There he worked for Hardy’s for 10 years as their fortified winemaker, based in Glossop in the Riverland. After he and his wife Jenny established their own vineyard in 2002, he left Hardy’s in 2007 to concentrate on developing their own winery, establishing 919 wines.
